Bought this for my husband’s study and I’ve ended up pinching it for the living room shelf. The glow is lovely, especially in the evenings when you switch it to the softer purple setting. Our nine-year-old spent a good twenty minutes asking how the digits light up one at a time, so now we’ve been reading up on how the tubes actually work. Looks properly retro without being naff.

cracking little clock and the colours are rich without being garish. Took me a few minutes to work out the buttons for changing the colour cycle, but that’s me being impatient. Sits nicely on my desk. Knocked a star off only because it’s a bit pricey for what it is.
Priya Patel –
Looks good once it’s running, but the box was a lot smaller than I’d pictured and the clock itself is quite compact, so check the dimensions first. Also the power cable is rather short, which meant rearranging my sideboard to reach a socket. Works fine, just not quite what I’d imagined.
Margaret Hughes –
Got this for my grandson’s birthday. He grinned from ear to ear when he plugged it in. Lovely glow and he’s put it right by his bed.
Callum Reid –
Spot on. Always fancied a Nixie clock but the proper vintage ones cost a fortune, so this was a sensible way in. Each tube has its own little wire filament shape for the numbers stacked behind one another, and watching them swap over at the minute is oddly hypnotic. Finish is neat, colours are bright and the whole thing feels well put together. Chuffed to bits.
Margaret Hollis –
bought this for my grandson Alfie who’s mad about anything retro and science-y. He sat staring at the glowing numbers for ages, then asked if he could keep it by his bed instead of his old lamp. Chuffed to bits, and so is his mum, as it arrived with the postie two days early.

Spot on. The tubes have a lovely warm glow and the colours shift smoothly, so it works as both a clock and mood lighting on my bookshelf.
