Bought this for my own desk, if I’m honest. Each tube has a little wire mesh anode and a stack of glowing digits inside, and only the number that’s switched on lights up that warm orange. Mesmerising to watch the seconds tick over. The steel base feels properly solid too, not a cheap bit of tat. My wife keeps finding excuses to wander into the study just to look at it.
