What is an astronaut lamp?
An astronaut lamp is a night light shaped as a spacesuited figure: some glow softly from inside, some hold a moon or a plasma ball, and the projector models tilt their helmet to throw a galaxy onto the ceiling. USB powered, remote or tap controlled, with timers on the projectors, they are the hero of a space themed bedroom and the gift the whole family recognises.
Who is this collection for?
👨🚀
For a child who wants to be an astronaut
An astronaut lamp or projector is the bedroom's hero: it glows, it projects the galaxy, and it looks like a toy you are allowed to keep on.
🎁
For a space themed birthday or a new baby's room
The gift the whole family recognises. Warm light, soft shapes, and a night sky on the ceiling with the projector models.
🚀
For adults with a space corner
Desk astronauts, plasma astronauts and projector figures for the geek who decorates with intent.
How to choose an astronaut lamp
Decide between a lamp that glows and a projector that paints the ceiling; then check the size against the shelf or bedside table it will live on.
| Type | Best for | Feature | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Astronaut USB night lights | Toddlers, bedside, soft glow | Warm LED, tap control | £16 to £30 |
| Astronaut moon and plasma lamps | Kids' rooms, desks | Holds a moon or a plasma ball | £40 to £60 |
| Astronaut galaxy projectors | Bedtime routine, ages 3+ | Adjustable head, timer, remote | £45 to £94 |
Projector heads turn and tilt so the galaxy lands where you want. Set the timer for bedtime: the projectors are bright and colourful, best switched off once the child is asleep.
The science in two lines
The projector models use a low power laser through a diffraction grating for the stars and LEDs behind a slowly rotating lens for the nebula, the same optics as a full size galaxy projector packed into a helmet. Eye-safe at these power levels, but not for staring into.
