Sits on my desk next to the monitor and gets comments from every colleague who walks past. The brain looks properly like it’s floating once the lights are down. Only niggle is the USB cable could be a touch longer, but that’s me being picky.

Lovely to look at, but the instruction leaflet was only in Chinese and German, so I spent a good ten minutes working out how to change the colour setting. Got there in the end by pressing the base. The brain itself is smaller than the photos made me think, about the size of a large orange. Still pretty, just not quite what I’d pictured.

bought this after the last couple of gadgets I got from here and it’s another good’un. Arrived quickly, postie didn’t even need me to sign. Glow is a bit dimmer than I expected in a bright room, but in the evening it’s cracking.

Got this for my 11-year-old who’s obsessed with neuroscience after a school trip, and her face when I switched it on in her bedroom was a picture. She spent about twenty minutes just staring at it and then dragged her brother in to see. I had a look at how it works afterwards, and it’s a clever bit of kit: the image is etched inside a clear acrylic block and lit from underneath, so the lines catch the light and your brain fills in the 3D shape. Not magic, but it feels like it. Sits beside her books now and she’s chuffed to bits.

Bought for my grandson’s birthday. He grinned from ear to ear when it lit up. Lovely blue colour. Wish the box had been a bit sturdier, that’s all.
Callum Reid –
Good looking lamp, does exactly what it says. Fab as a night light and a decent conversation starter. Bit pricey for what it is, but I don’t regret it.

bought this for my grandson Alfie, he’s nine and mad about anything to do with the human body. His eyes went huge when I switched it off at the main light, and he’s asked to have it on every night since. Chuffed to bits, and so am I.
Daniel Archer –
Spot on. The brain really does appear to hover in mid-air.
