Rachel Thornton –
Bought this for my 11-year-old who normally has his face glued to a tablet. He sat at the kitchen table for a good forty minutes, tongue poking out, muttering to himself about which ring had to come off first. When it finally came apart he actually shouted. Then he made me put it back together so he could do it again. Money well spent.

Lovely bit of wood, smooth finish. Got it for my granddaughter’s birthday and her smile when she worked it out was a picture. Spot on.

What I like is that the rings only slide off if you get the sequence right, so it’s pure logic rather than brute force. You have to move one ring in order to free up another, and it’s oddly relaxing once you start seeing the pattern. Took me three evenings with a cuppa to crack it. Now it lives on my desk and colleagues keep picking it up.

My grandson was chuffed to bits with the Chinese Brain Teaser! Kept him entertained for hours, and he was thrilled to solve it on his own. Wonderful challenge.

This Chinese puzzle is just the ticket for keeping the mind sharp. The rings add to the challenge perfectly, and it’s quite satisfying once you get the hang of it. A splendid addition to my collection of brain teasers.
