Karen Mitchell –
Lovely to look at once it got going, but it took nearly two hours before the bubbles properly started moving, and the box said nothing about that. Nearly sent it back thinking it was duff. Also the plug was a bit loose in the socket, so I’ve had to wedge it. Fine now though.
Rhys Davies –
Bought this for my daughter’s 8th and she’s barely left it alone. She sat cross-legged on the floor for ages with the main light off, whispering about which blob was ‘the boss’. I’ll admit I got drawn in too. The bulb warms the wax at the bottom, it gets less dense and floats up, then cools at the top and sinks back down. Simple physics but it looks properly magical. She’s now asking for a science kit to go with it, so that’s the next birthday sorted.
Priya Shah –
very pleased with it. sits nicely on my bedside table and the colours are softer than I expected, which is actually perfect for winding down. Only reason it’s not five is that it’s a touch smaller than the photos suggested.
Margaret Hollis –
Got this for our grandson Alfie. His little face lit up when the bubbles started to rise. He sat watching it for ages. Lovely gift, arrived well wrapped.
Margaret Thornton –
bought this for my grandson’s 8th birthday and he hasn’t left it alone since. Sat watching the bubbles for ages, then asked me why they rise and sink, so I’ve had to do a bit of homework myself! Now it’s glowing away on his bedside table and he calls it his ‘science lamp’. Chuffed to bits.
Daniel Hughes –
Spot on. The coloured blobs drift up and down so slowly it’s properly hypnotic, and the colour shift gives the room a lovely glow in the evenings.
