Bought this for my 9-year-old son’s bedroom and he’s barely left it since. He lies on his bed watching the red blobs rise and split apart, then asks me why they sink again. Had to Google the answer about the wax heating up and becoming less dense than the liquid, and now I sound very clever. The blue glow against the red looks cracking in the dark. Chuffed with it.

Lovely lamp, looks properly retro on the sideboard. Takes a good 45 minutes or so before the lava gets going, which is fair enough I suppose. Metal base feels sturdy. Knocked a star off only because the cable is a bit short.
