Built it with my lad on a rainy Sunday afternoon and it took about an hour and a half. The LEDs cycle through nicely once it’s wired up correctly. Only reservation is that the wires are a bit fiddly for smaller fingers, so I ended up doing a few of the connections myself.

My daughter (9) went quiet for a full twenty minutes, which never happens, and then shrieked when the green light came on. She’s since made me stand in the hallway and pretend to be a car. The best bit for me was how she started asking why the lights change in order rather than all at once, so we ended up chatting about circuits at bedtime. Cracking little kit.

good kit, does what it says. bought it as a stocking filler for my nephew and he had it running before tea. Bit pricey for what’s in the box but he’s chuffed with it.
Margaret Doyle –
Bought for my grandson Alfie. His little face when the lights came on, lovely to see. Spot on.

Always been curious how a basic traffic light sequence actually works, so I got this for myself, and no shame in that. Once it’s assembled you can see how the current gets passed along so each LED lights in turn, which is neater than I expected for a kit this size. Brilliant for a rainy weekend. Now thinking about wiring up a little crossing to go with it.

Got this kit for my grandson, and oh what a joy it was to see his face light up brighter than the LEDs! It kept him so engaged, learning as he went along. The perfect little introduction to the world of circuits.

A delightful little project! Assembling the traffic light was easier than expected, a neat design for budding scientists. Watching the lights go through their cycle was oddly satisfying, and sparked a bit of curiosity about how it all works.
