Built it with my lad over a Sunday afternoon and it worked first go once the solder joints were sorted. The laser is bright enough across a hallway, and the buzzer is properly loud. Only niggle is that the instructions assume you’ve done a bit of soldering before, so a complete beginner might need a hand.

ordered from here again, third kit now and the packaging is always spot on. This one’s a good laugh, the photoresistor bit is clever once you see how it flips the circuit when the beam breaks. Knocked off a star because the battery holder feels a bit flimsy, but it does the job.

Bought for my grandson Alfie, he’s 11. Big grin when the alarm went off on his bedroom door. Lovely little kit.
Rhys Pritchard –
Decent kit in the end, but one of the screws for the mounting bracket was missing from my bag, so I had to dig one out of the shed to finish it. Took a good week longer than quoted to arrive as well. Works fine now, just a shame about the missing part.

What a cracking kit! As someone who’s always been fascinated by lasers, this was just the thing. Managed to rig up the tripwire with minimal fuss. The little beam cuts through the room. And when it goes off? Brilliant entertainment and a bit of science rolled in.

Bought this for my grandson. he was chuffed! The excitement in his eyes as he experimented with the laser beam was priceless. hours of fun and learning all rolled into one. Spot on gadget for a budding inventor!
