Hydraulic Scissor Lift Kit: build your own lift
A hydraulic build for young engineers
This hydraulic lift build invites children to explore the principles of mechanics and hydraulics. By assembling the wooden pieces and pressing the syringes, they watch how water pressure can raise a platform. A tactile, visual experience that stimulates curiosity and an understanding of physical phenomena.
A hydraulic lift game, an educational and fun gift
Giving this hydraulic lift gamemeans offering an enriching hands-on activity. Some parents may fear it is too complex? Rest assured, the kit is designed to be accessible from age 8, with clear illustrated instructions. Once built, the lift becomes an interactive tool to experiment with and understand the forces at play.

Rachel Thornton –
My eight-year-old built it in about forty minutes with only a bit of help from me on the tubing. Lifts a small toy car nicely. Only reservation is that the syringes can be a touch stiff at first, but they loosened up after a few goes.
Callum Reid –
Bought this for my nephew but ended up playing with it myself, if I’m honest. Pushing one syringe sends water through the tube to the other, and that pressure is what makes the scissor arms stretch upwards. Simple idea, but seeing it work makes hydraulics finally click. The pieces slot together snugly and nothing leaked once the tubing was pushed on properly.

Got this for my grandson’s birthday. He was grinning from ear to ear when the lift went up. Lovely little kit.
Dev Patel –
third kit I’ve ordered from here and another solid one. Arrived quickly, well packed, and the lad had it up and running by teatime. Wouldn’t mind slightly longer tubing, but that’s me being picky.
Joanne Bailey –
Good fun and the instructions are clear enough for a ten-year-old to follow alone. Does the job. It’s a bit smaller than the photos made me think, though it still lifts things well enough.
Steve Marshall –
Decent idea, but one of the connector pieces was missing from our box, so we had to improvise with a spare from another kit before my daughter could finish it. Customer service replied, though it took a week for the replacement to turn up. It works fine now and she’s pleased with it.
Alice Johnson –
My son couldn’t stop smiling when he managed to assemble the hydraulic lift! He was so chuffed with his creation and kept showing it off to anyone who’d listen. It’s a cracking kit that’s definitely sparked his interest in engineering.
Peter Green –
A clever design that really intrigued me. Assembling it was straightforward, and watching the lift in action with the use of syringes was quite the treat. Such a engaging way to learn about hydraulics. Brilliant item!
