bought this for my desk at work and it gets plenty of comments. Reacts nicely when you put a hand on the glass, the streams just chase your fingers. Knocked off one star as the base gets a bit warm after a few hours, nothing alarming.

My son is nine and he wouldn’t leave it alone for the first hour. He kept switching the big light off so he could watch the purple tendrils, then shrieked when they all raced to his fingertip. We’ve since had a proper chat about electricity and gases, which I’d call a result. Now lives on his bedroom shelf as a nightlight.

Bought for my grandson’s birthday. His little face lit up as much as the ball did! Lovely present.

Third thing I’ve ordered from here and another solid one. Arrived well wrapped, took about two minutes to set up. The cable’s a touch short for my sideboard, so I needed an extension lead. Otherwise sound, and the missus loves it.
Oliver Bennett –
Always wondered how these worked, so I read up after it arrived. Basically a high-frequency current at the centre electrode excites the gas mix inside, and when you touch the glass your hand gives the current an easier path to ground, so the streamers gather right where your finger is. Brilliant bit of physics sitting on my bookshelf, and it looks cracking with the lights down. Spot on.
Gladys Pritchard –
Got this for our granddaughter and she giggled for ages. Simple to use, just plug it in. Worth every penny.
Sophie Clarke –
Looks great and the kids enjoyed it, but delivery took nearly two weeks when the site said 3-5 working days, and nobody emailed to explain. Ball itself is fine, no complaints there. Just a shame about the wait, as it was meant to be a birthday present and turned up late.

Got this for my son’s birthday, he can’t stop playing with it. Keeps him mesmerised for ages, and now he wants to know everything about plasma. Brilliant.

Cracking little gadget. The Mini Plasma Ball is hypnotic and fun, perfect for adding a special touch to my room. Love how the colours respond to touch—feels like I’m in a sci-fi film every night! Well impressed.
