Why buy a Tesla coil ?
Owning a Tesla coil offers many advantages and real benefits. First of all, it’s an excellent educational tool for teaching and exploring the principles of electromagnetism and high voltage. As well as being fascinating to observe, it can spark an interest in science in young people and adults alike. The Tesla coil can also serve as an original and intriguing decoration, attracting the attention of your guests while adding a scientific touch to your home. Last but not least, our Tesla coil integrates musical features, allowing you to listen to your favorite tunes while enjoying an impressive visual spectacle thanks to the electric arcs.
How a Tesla coil works
The operation of a Tesla coil is based on electromagnetic induction and resonance. It is a resonant transformer made up of two tuned circuits: a primary circuit and a secondary circuit. The primary circuit, powered by an energy source, creates a variable magnetic field which, in turn, induces a high-voltage alternating current in the secondary circuit. This high voltage generates spectacular arcing at the end of the secondary coil.

Bought this for my desk at home and it gets a lot of attention. The plasma arc dancing along to music is properly mesmerising. Only reservation is that it’s a bit smaller than the photos suggested, but it works well.
Priya Nair –
lovely little thing. Set it up in about five minutes and my brother and I spent the evening trying different playlists to see which ones looked best. Bass-heavy tracks win. Sound isn’t hi-fi quality, mind, but it’s not meant to be.
Gareth Pugh –
Third gadget I’ve ordered from here and another good one. Arrived well wrapped, quick to get going. Does hum a touch when it’s running, but nothing daft.
Sophie Armitage –
Got it for my son’s 12th birthday and he’s been showing it off to every mate who comes round. The glow in a darkened room is brilliant. Took one star off because the power lead is a bit short for where we wanted it.
Colin Marsden –
Cracking bit of kit for the price. Spot on as a conversation starter.
Margaret Hollis –
bought this for my grandson’s 9th birthday and he hasn’t left his bedroom since. He had the lights off, a tune playing through the plasma and a face like it was Christmas morning. Spot on, and the postie even brought it a day early.
Daniel Probert –
Brilliant. Plug it in, switch off the lights and the music comes straight out of the plasma arc, which is a cracking bit of physics on the desk.
