Radioactive Reactor Lamp: a nuclear glow for your desk
Switch it on and the chamber fills with a slow green pulse, the kind of light that makes you step back before you remember it is just LEDs. The distressed metal look, the hazard symbol and the folding handle sell the story: this is a lantern salvaged from somewhere you should not have been. It is also, in reality, a very safe uranium style lamp that runs on batteries and sits happily on a shelf, a bedside table or a gaming desk.
A radioactive lamp that works as a night light and a prop
The glow is soft enough to leave on in a bedroom and strange enough to be the first thing guests ask about. It suits fans of science fiction, video games and anything post-apocalyptic, and it makes an easy gift for someone who already owns every normal lamp. Worried about the “radioactive” part? There is nothing inside but a light source and a diffuser. The only thing that glows is the plastic.

Rachel Whitcombe –
Bought this for my 11-year-old who’s obsessed with anything post-apocalyptic, and he actually gasped when he switched it on. The green glow pulses slowly, like something’s ticking over inside, and the rust finish looks properly weathered rather than painted. It now sits on his bedside table and he’s told every mate who’s come round about it. Worth every penny.

chuffed with this one. Warning symbol looks the part and the pulsing green is lovely in a dark room. Only small niggle is that it eats through batteries a touch quicker than I expected, so I’ll be getting rechargeables.
Eileen Broadbent –
Got this for my grandson Callum. He grinned from ear to ear and hasn’t put it down. Lovely little thing.

Third thing I’ve ordered from you lot and again no bother. Arrived quick, postie didn’t even have to knock twice. The lamp’s a cracking bit of desk clutter and gets comments on every video call. Would’ve given five but the on/off switch is a bit fiddly to find underneath.
Hannah Kettering –
Does exactly what it says. The pulsing effect is more subtle than I imagined, which I actually prefer as it’s not distracting while I work. Batteries weren’t included, so have some AAs handy.
Linda Cartwright –
My grandson was over the moon with this Radioactive Reactor Lamp for his birthday. Took one look and said it was the most ‘wicked’ present ever. He’s got it on his desk now, and it really does look like something from a sci-fi movie!

What a cracking piece of kit! The green glow is mesmerising and gives off a proper eerie vibe. Fits nicely in with my collection of quirky gadgets. Couldn’t be more chuffed with how it transforms the room into a mad scientist’s lab.
