Bought this for my desk at home and I keep catching myself just watching it. Pop a hot mug of tea next to it, or sit it on the warm base, and the flywheel starts turning once you give it a little nudge. It’s the heat difference between the top and bottom plates that drives it, which I find properly satisfying to explain to anyone who asks. My brother-in-law spent twenty minutes poking at it last weekend. Nicely made, with a good bit of weight to it.

Looks lovely on the shelf and the finish is decent, but it’s noticeably smaller than I’d pictured from the photos. Worth checking the dimensions before you order. It does run, though it needs a fair bit of heat and a few attempts before it gets going. Not a bad purchase, just not quite what I’d imagined size-wise.

Got this for my grandson who’s mad on engines. His face lit up when the wheel started going round. Lovely little thing and he’s put it pride of place in his room.
Tom Gallagher –
cracking little model and it fits in nicely with the industrial look of my study. Took a couple of goes to get it spinning, but once it’s warmed up it ticks along quietly. Only reservation is that the instructions are a bit thin, so I had to work a few bits out myself.

Back again after buying a couple of gadgets from here last year, and this one’s another good’un. Arrived well wrapped and the metal parts feel solid. Slightly pricey for the size, but it’s a proper talking point whenever friends pop round.

bought this for my grandson who’s nine and he was glued to it all afternoon. Kept asking how it runs on nothing but a bit of warmth, then spent ages watching the flywheel spin. Postie brought it quickly too, chuffed to bits.

Spot on.
