DIY Ball Launcher Kit: a mini science cannon
A ball launching game with a built-in motor
Two spinning wheels propel the balls with striking regularity. While assembling the launcher, children handle gears, electric current and the motor shaft. The kit runs on two AA batteries (not included) and shows in real time how electrical energy converts into kinetic energy. Once running, the effect is hypnotic: the balls shoot out with force and fluidity. Perfect for a first look at the laws of motion.
Ping pong ball launcher: game, workshop, challenge
What about turning it into a competition? This game works as well solo as in a small group. Ideal for birthdays, STEM workshops or creative science lessons. Worried about durability? The frame is solid wood and the components are standard. If anything goes wrong, everything comes apart and can be replaced easily. A building experience that certainly bounces back.

Build, understand, imagine
These engineering and construction kits offer much more than play: they develop logic, precision and creativity. By assembling structures, machines or mechanisms, children discover the fundamentals of mechanics, physics and engineering principles. Every project is a chance to learn by building, with the pleasure of watching something they made with their own hands actually work. 👉 Back to engineering & construction kitsCustomers who viewed this engineering kit also looked at

Bought this for my nephew’s birthday and it went down well. Took about 25 minutes to put together with a bit of help, and the balls fire out at a steady pace once you flick the switch. Only reservation is that the little ping pong balls vanish under the sofa rather quickly, so I’d order a few spares.

Got this for our grandson Alfie and his little face lit up when the first ball shot across the room. He hasn’t stopped giggling. Lovely gift.

Pretty much a regular here, and this one’s another decent pick from the shop. Does what it says. The two spinning wheels grab each ball and fling it out, which is a nice way to show my daughter what friction actually does. Wiring was a touch fiddly, but nothing a cup of tea and some patience couldn’t sort.

bought this for my grandson Alfie, who’s seven, and he hasn’t stopped giggling since. We built it together on the kitchen table and he was chuffed to bits when the first ping pong ball shot across the room. He’s already asking me to adjust the wheels to see how far they’ll go. Cracking little kit.

Spot on. Two spinning wheels grip the ball and fling it out, so you can really see friction and propulsion at work.
