Karen Whitfield –
Looks lovely on the windowsill and the crystals do change shape from one day to the next, which is oddly hypnotic. Not convinced it predicts the weather any better than my phone, but as a talking point it’s cracking. Knocked a star off only because the glass is a touch smaller than the photos made it look.

Bought this for my nine-year-old after she got hooked on a weather programme, and she’s barely left it alone since. She checks it before breakfast and announces the forecast to the whole house, usually with a very serious face. I like that it works through temperature and pressure changes affecting how the camphor mixture crystallises, so she’s picked up some proper science without realising. Pride of place on the kitchen shelf now.

Been ordering from here for a few years now and this one sits happily alongside the rest of my bits. Arrived well wrapped, looks smart. Bit pricey for what it is, mind, but I’m glad I got it.
Margaret Doyle –
Got this for my grandson’s birthday. His smile when he opened it was a picture. He’s put it on his bedroom shelf. Lovely thing.
Margaret Hollis –
bought this for my grandson Alfie, who’s nine and obsessed with all things weather. He’s checked it every morning before school since it arrived and now announces the forecast at breakfast like a proper little newsreader. Chuffed to bits, the pair of us.

Spot on. The crystals in the sealed glass shift and cloud up as the air pressure and temperature change, so you get a rough idea of what’s coming. It sits on my bookshelf and looks cracking, and it’s become a real talking point whenever friends pop round.
