The Magnetic Sand Timer for a Magnetic Show
A Magnetic Sand glass to Create Fascinating Figures
The Magnetic Sand glass combines the scientific with the original. The magnet mounted on the base holds the filings, stopping them in their tracks. The result is crystal-clear figures that change as time goes by. The youngest and even the oldest can have fun creating new structures by directing the falling sand in this hourglass.
A 2 in 1 Sand Crystal Hourglass
Durable, fascinating and beautiful, the magnetized sand glass is a versatile object that will embellish any room. It converts into a classic hourglass in a single movement. Simply separate it from its magnet plate to enjoy a more classic hourglass.

Helen Marsden –
Sits nicely on my bookshelf and the copper base looks lovely against the dark wood. The sand sculpts itself into little spikes when it hits the magnet, which had my husband poking at it for ten minutes. Only reservation is that it’s a touch smaller than I pictured from the photos, but I’m still glad I bought it.
Gareth Pugh –
bought one for the desk at work and it gets more comments than anything else on there. Fun to watch. Wish the sand ran for a bit longer but that’s me being picky.
Priya Shah –
Third thing I’ve ordered from here and the packing was as tidy as ever, everything wrapped well and the postie brought it on the day promised. The timer itself is cracking, nice weight to the copper base. Knocked a star off only because the sand clumps slightly on the magnetic plate and needs a gentle tap to settle.
Colin Fraser –
Good looking bit of kit. Does what it says, and the vintage finish is better in person than online. A little pricey for what it is, mind.
Mohammed Iqbal –
Bought this as a thank-you gift for my son’s science teacher and she was chuffed with it. The sand creeps up and clings to the magnet in odd shapes, quite mesmerising. Would have liked a little card explaining how the magnet works, but otherwise spot on.
Margaret Whitcombe –
bought this for my grandson Alfie who’s seven and he was glued to it. Kept asking how the sand makes those spiky shapes, so we’ve had a lovely afternoon looking it up together. Spot on.
Daniel Hargreaves –
Brilliant.
